Brenton, Snik, Kelsey, and Judy are in 5 th grade and have only thing in common. Brenton is easily the smartest kid in school, so smart that even his parents and teachers have trouble keeping up with him. He is anxious to find out how he is now getting A’s.

Maxie, Rosie, and Earl—Partners in Grime. The chronology and confession of their ill-fated escapade is related entirely through a series of transcripts, narrated by the four contrite kids, their parents, classmates, and Miss Rasmussen.
The author has written another book with the same characters. Told in alternating voices as all the participants make statements to the Grand Canyon Policethe story unfolds in intriguing fashion. Gutman wummary a talented writer with dozens of children’s books to his credit, and his latest is a funny and thought-provoking tale that should appeal equally to boys and girls. I am still reading, but homewrok life has been subject to some stress and craziness lately.
